I didnt enjoy this movie all that much, it wasnt very funny to me. Not that it wasnt funny, just not the kind of humor i enjoy. But for some reason this made me burst out laughing for a solid two minutes after it happened, i dont understand why i find this so fucking funny but goddamn

When I first saw this movie, I didn't immediately recognize Denis Leary. Then he started with that rant and I was like "holy shit, he's in this movie". And then I was fined one credit for violating the verbal morality statute.

I understand how Stine has to be so careful around enchanted books now, because of what happened when he was in high school. Slip even is wearing glasses at the end similar to Stine's own glasses in the Goosebumps movie, that is definitely R.L Stine as a teenager.

At the end Slip actually grew up to become R.L Stine and now has a ghost-daughter named Hannah, he still has a connection to magical books only of course he has to be a bit more careful because his books have actual monsters in them (ones that aren't friendly unlike the ones here).

R.L Stine had to start somewhere before becoming a horror writer, you could argue that this was very much his first experience with a supernatural book. Of course later on he'd encounter gnomes again but vicious lawn gnomes, and also a werewolf in sneakers, an abominable snowman, and an evil dummy.

I had no idea there’d been a spin-off! I can see why it didn’t last more than 1 season. But I loved seeing Jack Black!
